Sunday School & Education Hour
Do you want to know how important Sunday School is? Consider this story:
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explaining the commandment to “Honor thy father and thy mother,” she asked “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?” Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, “Thou shall not kill.” Good answer.
There is nothing more impactful on a child's faith formation - or an adult, for that matter - than participating in "Sunday School." A recent national poll shows that 92% of Americans who go to church and even 68% of those who do NOT go to church want their children to receive religious instruction. Here at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, we offer several opportunities for faith formation, from the youngest to the oldest.
