Sunday Mornings –

Traditional Worship 8:30
Faith Formation 9:45 (informal from June through August)
Contemporary Worship 11:00 (10:30 – June through August)

Worship at F.E.L.C. can be characterized as relational. Pastor Mark’s style with worship is one that is largely informal and conversational. There is great effort to assure that worship is biblically responsible, theologically sound, contextually relevant, and relationally authentic. The worship experience, while always striving to be done well, is nevertheless comfortable with being human and accepting the occasional surprise (especially with the children’s sermon!). It is often in those unplanned moments that God is most profoundly encountered.

Traditional worship at F.E.L.C. strives to be comfortably familiar. You will experience a traditional Lutheran liturgy where, from the Apostolic Greeting, the Hymns, and all the way to the Benediction, you will encounter not only the long history of the communion of saints but also a worship experience that feels as familiar and as comfortable as a favorite sweatshirt.

Contemporary worship at F.E.L.C. aims for an authentic, relevant, some-what spontaneous expression of worship. Here we offer songs of praise that one will typically encounter on contemporary Christian radio. The band, Lightshine, is a wonderfully gifted and able gathering of musicians and singers. Their musical leadership elevates the worship experience, allowing the worshipers to fully engage God, spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally.

In all honesty, we aren’t concerned about how you come to worship—just come! We want to give everyone the space and opportunity to encounter and enjoy God, offering God praise as is most fitting for him or her.

Worship Ministries

Worship is ultimately the work of the people, not the Pastor. As the Church we need and expect every member—maybe even visitors—to be involved in worship. There are many opportunities to assist with the worshipping of God. We encourage everyone to be involved in some way, be it:

• Ushering/Greeting
• Reading Scripture
• Acolyte
• Communion Assistant
• Altar Guild
• Assisting the Pastor
• Audio/Visual

There is nothing more meaningful or important than helping make worship—an encounter with God—happen and happen well. Please consider how you can play a part in helping others worship and encounter God, then contact one of the following individuals:
